Record-breaking sale of 8,700 Gandhi Books worth Rs. 2.58 lakhs within just three days

There is an overwhelming response to Gandhi Books Exhibition-cum-Sale at Hutatma Chowk and Gandhi Book Centre at Nana Chowk. About 8,700 Gandhi books worth Rs. 2,58,000/- were sold within just three days. 'An Autobiography' of Mahatma Gandhi, and a set of five important books, 'Selected Works of Mahatma Gandhi' are the top-selling books at the exhibition. About 1,100 copies of 'Gandhi's Autobiography' and 115 sets of 'Selected Works of Mahatma Gandhi' were sold. We were happy to note that most of those who frequented the stall were youngsters.
To commemorate Gandhi's 65th Death Anniversary, 250 books on & by Gandhi, Vinoba & Sarvodaya are being displayed & are being sold at 50% discount by Mumbai Sarvodaya Mandal & Gandhi Book Centre with the financial assistance of ‘Babulnath Mandir Charities’ from
28th January to 2nd February at a specially erected Mandap at Hutatma Chowk, Near Police Chowki and at Gandhi Book Centre, Nana Chowk. Top-selling books, 'An Autobiography' of Mahatma Gandhi of 450 pages and a set of five important books, 'Selected Works of Mahatma Gandhi' of 1500 pages, will be available at Rs. 25/- & Rs. 75/- respectively at the exhibition.
Last year, Gandhi books worth Rs. 3,86,000/- were sold within just six days.
In the present context of increasing violence, terrorism & crime, Autobiography and other books of Mahatma Gandhi are inspiring many people all over the world. Gandhiji has left indelible footprints on the sands of time. Even after 65 years of his departure from this world, his thoughts and deeds have not waned.
This year, up to now, more than 3.5 lakh copies of 'An Autobiography' of Mahatma Gandhi in fifteen Indian languages are being sold by Navjivan Trust. After reading Gandhi books, many people, even prisoners, have decided to follow the path of Truth and Non-Violence and are striving to sustain morality by practicing peaceful conflict resolution which is the need of the hour.
