Mr. Christian Bartolf:

Christian Bartolf is a Political and Educational Scientist (post-graduate, graduated with two University Diploma 1986 and 1987, Departments for Educational and Political Sciences, Free University Berlin, Germany).He has visited India (1985, 1998), Israel (1989-1997), Russia (1991-1995, 2000) and several European countries. He has served as aCounsellor for Conscientious Objectors and Director of the Peace Education Media Center for the Protestant Church District in Berlin-Spandau (Germany) (1991-1999) and the Ecumenical Center for Ecology, Peace and One World in Berlin-Spandau (since 2000).

Mr. Mark Shepard

In 1978-79, Mark travelled around the world to meet modern-day 'successors' of Mahatma Gandhi in India, France, and the United States. Out of these visits came two books-Gandhi Today and The Community of the Ark-plus a series of articles that appeared in over 30 publications in nine countries. Mark became recognized as a foremost authority on Gandhi and on the Gandhi Movement in India today. His books are unique and invaluable as first-hand reports of significant individuals, projects, and movements in the field of nonviolent social alternatives.

Mark now lives in Friday Harbor, Washington. Though no longer active in the nonviolence movement, he is pleased to make his earlier work available through his books and on the Web.

Prof. Douglas Allen

Peace activism has been a way of life for close to 40 years. An ardent admirer of Mahatma Gandhi, he has been active in the civil rights movement, the anti-Vietnam war struggle, anti-apartheid and feminist movements and more recently anti-Iraq protest.

He continues to do Gandhi research, teaching, and service. In June he gave a Gandhi lecture at a peacemaking conference in Maine and another Gandhi lecture at an international conference in comparative philosophy in California. Recently, he completed a new study, "Gandhi After 9/11: Terrorism, Violence, and the Other," for a book he's editing entitled, 'Comparative Philosophy in Times of Terror'. He is also editing another book entitled, 'The Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi for the Twenty-First Century'.

Ms. Vera Gáthy:

She is a senior (and elderly) researcher and the biographer of M. K. Gandhi in Hungarian language from Hungary, Central Europe. She has written a paper on 'Gandhi and India - Sixty Years'. She is giving talks on Gandhi and organizing Cultural Programmes.

Mr. Howard Clark :

Shri Howard Clark has been the chairperson of War Resister's International since 2006 and was the Co-ordinators for the same from 1985 to 1997. He has been involved in non-violent movements since1968, on issues of peace, ecology and gender equality. He is a trainer in non-violence. More recently he has become a peace researcher - a visiting research fellow of the Centre for Peace and Reconciliation Studies at Coventry University, England, and a visiting member of faculty at the UNESCO Centre for Peace Philosophy at Universitat Jaume 1, Castellon Spain. His most recent book is 'People Power: Unarmed Resistance and Global Solidarity'. He maintains an online bibliography - www.civilresistance.info on non-violent action since 1945.

Prof. Lia Diskin is the founder of the Palas Athena Association. It is a Brazilian NGO dedicated to developing, fostering and managing community-oriented programes and projects in the fields of Education, Healthcare, Human Rights, Environmental Preservation, Social Welfate and Culture of Peace. Agus Indra Udayana:

Agus Indra Udayana since a decade has been actively engaged in promoting Gandhian values in Indonesia through his four ashrams in Bali and Lombok based on the principles of non-violence, truth and humanitarianism. He has been constantly participating various national nad international forum on nurturing democracy, religious harmony through inter-faith dialoue, education and involvement of youth in activities promoting Gandhian values.

Mr Agus Indra Udayana is disseminating Gandhian ideologies particularly those relevant to the prevailing social concerns through seminars, workshops, competitions, camps, interfaith dialogue and prayers. He has trabslated Gandhian writings into Indonesian language.

Shang Quanyu :

Mr. Shang Quanyu is a Ph.D. in/Prof. of World History at the South China Normal University Guangzhou and presently the pre-eminent Gandhian scholar in China. He has been researching and writing about Gandhi for over three decades. The topic of his post-doctoral research project, which he undertook at St. John's University, Minnesota, USA was 'God Resides in the Human Heart: Mahatma Gandhi's Philosophy of Religion'. faculty of School of Foreign Studies, South China Normal University, Guangzhou, China. He has done his Ph.D. in World History. Gandhian Scholar. Translated many books in Chinese.
