05. When G. B. S. visited Gandhiji

George Bernard Shaw, in describing his visit to Gandhiji during the latter's stay in London towards the close of 1931, stated : "When I visited Gandhi I notice he was sitting uncomfortably on a huge upholstered chair.

I seized the situation at once.

I said : Won't you sit on the floor as you do at home?' I sat likewise and instantly we became friends."
