It is our greatest pleasure to announce to you that the Sabarmati Ashram Preservation and Memorial Trust (SAPMT), Ahmedabad in collaboration with Gujarat Vidyapith and Centre for Environment Education will be hosting an International Conference. The conference 'Towards a Non-violent society: Satyagraha, Education, Sustainability' is scheduled on 28 (Wednesday), 29 (Thursday), 30 (Friday) January 2015 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India to coincide with the centenary of Gandhiji's return to India from South Africa.
The conference seeks to explore the continuing resonance of the ideas and practices of Gandhiji towards creation of a non-violent, just and non-exploitative social order. These explorations would build on the historical legacy of these ideas as also their contemporary and future contours.
The three dimensions of Satyagraha, Education and Sustainability would provide the prism through which these ideas could be explored. We request you to communicate.
Announcement of registration, accommodation and other conference related events would be made available soon. Information will be gradually and regularly updated until the beginning of the conference. Please note that the registration deadline is 15th January 2015.
