Gandhism pratice in Police Training

The Railway Police Commissioner, Shri Suresh Khopde is presenting a certificate to the Police Inspector for successfully completing 10 Days Gandhi Studies Course at C.H.M. College, Ulhasnagar

It seems that the police uniform of khaki clothes, a pistol in the belt and a lathi in hand has added a new item in it. That is the thoughts and language of “Gandhigiri”.

 

A 10 day certification workshop was recently conducted ‘Gandhi Study Centre’ of Smt. Chandibai Himmatlal Mansukhani College, in which 18 PSIs participated. With his vast experience, Railway Police Commissioner, Shri. Suresh Khopde enlightened the participants about how to overcome the devil of terrorism in recent times. He expressed the inevitability of Gandhian values by saying, “Only Gandhiji’s ideologies are capable of breaking the vicious circle of riots and terrorism.” Sub-inspector, N. K. Chavan said that he had been able to view and understand Mahatma Gandhiji’s philosophy in those 10 days.

Finally, the certificates were awarded to all the 19 participating sub-inspectors and it concluded with the vote of thanks given by Prof. Uma Vishwakarma, vice principal, junior college.

 

As it has become a prior necessity for various parts of society to understand the Gandhian philosophy, the Centre is planning to organize such workshops for journalists also. In all, it was a strong base for this unique set of students like journalists.
