To commemorate 64th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi - Martyrs’ Day

1,200 students marched for Peace & Communal Harmony on 30th January and took the pledge to work for communal harmony and integration

1,200 NSS volunteers of SNDT and Mumbai University, Gandhian activists, social workers and peace loving citizens will march for the ‘Peace and Communal Harmony’ on Monday, 30th January, 2012 to commemorate 64th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Peace March is jointly organised by Mumbai Sarvodaya Mandal, NSS units of SNDT & Mumbai University and Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Mumbai.

Today, hatred, disharmony, violence and intolerance are spreading in an alarming   rate and moral values are on a decline. Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolence, truth, communal harmony, peace and brotherhood is need of the hour. Thus to inculcate the same spirit in the minds of people, especially in youth; we have organised a peace and communal harmony rally from Azad Maidan to Hutatma Chowk. Students will carry the play-cards and posters with slogans of communal harmony and national integration on the occasion of Martyrs' day.
